INSTITUTE OF FAMILY IN THE VIEW OF STUDENTS OF MOSCOW UNIVERSITIES

Annotation. The article is devoted to the study of the perception and importance of the institution of family among students of Moscow universities. As part of the work, an empirical survey was conducted, aimed at identifying the opinions and views of students on the family, its role and functions in modern society. The theoretical object of research is students’ ideas about the family institute, the empirical object of research is the student youth of Moscow universities. The results of the study showed that the family continues to be an important social institution for students, despite changes in society. The assessments and opinions of students about the family emphasize its importance both in their personal lives and in society as a whole. Most students continue to consider family as a key element of their lives, which confirms the high status of this institute. The vast majority prefer the traditional family model. One in three believes that traditional values are not outdated. A significant proportion of respondents consider the cultivation and upbringing of values in the family to be the most important of traditional values. However, the diversity of opinions on changing social roles in the family indicates the complexity of the process of adapting the family institution to modern challenges. The family performs key functions of upbringing and emotional support, while the younger generation increasingly values personal achievements and independence. A significant part of the respondents believe that the norms of parenting in the family have changed. These changes indicate the need to adapt the institution of the family to new social realities in order to maintain its importance and effectiveness.
