Annotation. The relevance of the study is determined by the subject of the study- demographic security as a factor in ensuring the economic security of the state, and the main purpose of the work is to assess the current state of demographic security in Russia and identify threats, for which the authors clarify the concept, analyze demographic indicators for 2021-2025 and determine the causes of deterioration, a review of previous The research of Rybakovsky, Soboleva, Karmanov and others shows a variety of different interpretations, but the article uses a well-known indicative method. Research methods., The methodological basis of the research is a systematic analysis and the theory of economic security. Results. The results revealed that the thresholds for the proportion of illegitimate births, mortality in working age and the number of abortions were exceeded, according to the Recommendations. Preservation of the population by increasing the birth rate; protection, support and protection of the family as the fundamental basis of society; strengthening the institution of family and marriage based on the preservation and promotion of traditional family values.
