Abstract. This study emphasizes the undeniable importance of the social experience accumulated by many generations, which serves as the foundation for the harmonious upbringing of today’s youth and the strengthening of traditional family values among the peoples of Russia. In the context of rapid global change, preserving the country’s rich multinational culture is becoming a priority, directly linked to the successful implementation and development of state family policy. The authors emphasize that cultural heritage is a living instrument for shaping civic identity. As practical mechanisms for achieving these goals, it is proposed to thoroughly study and implement time-tested interaction formats into modern practice. Specifically, this involves reviving and scaling up the experience of family clubs, unions, and various independent public associations. Particular attention is given to the analysis of the family festival movement, which actively developed in the late 1990s and early 2000s, demonstrating high effectiveness in bringing generations together and promoting traditional ways of life.

Keywords: folk traditions, cultural heritage, intergenerational connections, family, folk wisdom, bearers of folk traditions, interethnic culture.
