Annotation. The article presents some results of a sociological study that made it possible to study the religiosity of the inhabitants of Russia (using the example of Moscow and the Moscow region). The authors of the work analyzed questions about the level of religiosity of respondents in relation to their socio-demographic characteristics. It was found that a person’s education does not act as a factor in reducing the level of religiosity or even abandoning religion. Also, during the analysis of the open question, respondents were conditionally divided into groups: agnostics, deists, believers in energy and spiritual practitioners, those in spiritual search, radically denying the existence of God. It turned out that agnostics often appear among young people who deny the possibility of the existence of reliable knowledge, including about God. And also today the role of spiritual practices and faith in the Universe and the power of energy fields is increasing. A skeptical attitude towards society also manifests itself in deistic inclinations. Respondents do not believe in the church as a social institution, but do not stop believing in God, which further confirms the individualism of certain generations and youth.

Keywords: religion, religiosity, believer, education, youth.
